The Saudi Industrial Property Authority (Modon) will sign an agreement with Saudi Food Bank in Alkhobar today in the presence of Commerce and Industry Minister Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, who is chairman of Modon’s board of directors.
“The agreement aims at setting up a base for cooperation between the two sides in national service matters and implementing social responsibility,” an official statement said.
Saudi Food Bank has won the Camden international prize for the best charitable project in the Middle East. It was selected for the prize during a ceremony in Abu Dhabi two days ago.
Hamad Alduwailie, CEO and secretary-general of the bank, expressed his happiness over the achievement, adding that it would make qualitative improvement of charitable work in the Kingdom.
“Every organization has to do its work with professionalism, ensuring quality of administration,” he said.
The bank was initiated by Al-Fozan Social Foundation aimed at combating hunger and distributing excess food wisely among the poor. The food bank collects quality meals with the help of regular employees and volunteers, and delivers them to beneficiaries recommended by charities in the utmost of privacy.
