Movenpick guests savor food with football

The Movenpick Hotel Alkhobar made elaborate arrangements for live telecast of the recently concluded UEFA European Championships.
A giant screen at the hotel poolside was used to telecast the matches live to guests. The stewards serving the guests wore T-shirts of the participating countries and team flags were flying to set the mood and create the atmosphere.
From June 8 to July 1, the poolside at the Movenpick Alkhobar was full of soccer excitement. Fans enjoyed a special treat with an innovatively new snacks menu and a drinks menu.
There were inflatable mattresses, tubes, footballs floating in the pool to literally soak up the atmosphere offering guests the unique opportunity to take a refreshing dip and watch the matches sipping their favorite beverage. Comfortable couches, pool chairs and even beanbags were available to enjoy the matches in complete comfort.
“The response to this special offering was very encouraging with capacity attendance from the semi-final stage onwards.” said a top official at the hotel.
“The hotel resident guests as well as non-residents enjoyed this special soccer treat and are looking forward to more such opportunities again.”
Since its opening in September 2008, Movenpick Hotel Alkhobar has become a popular landmark in the Eastern Province.
Its General Manager Markus Marti is a Swiss national and a veteran of the hospitality industry.
