Indian community leaders representing various cultural organizations commended the services extended by N. Mohamed Kutty, former president of Samskrithy, during a farewell party for him here recently.
Kutty, who is also a Muslim League leader, is leaving the Kingdom after about 28 years of service. He has worked as general secretary of Kerala Muslim Cultural Center (KMCC) in Jeddah for seven years.
Speakers at the farewell party praised Kutty’s efforts for the welfare of the Keralite community, enhance better relations between organizations and improve volunteer services for pilgrims who come for Haj.
Kutty, who was academic director of Al-Noor International School in Jeddah, started his career in Saudi Arabia as warehouse supervisor with Stirenpack in 1985. After 10 years he joined Jamjoom Formost, where he worked as the senor logistic supervisor before joining Mahmoud Saeed Group.
Under his leadership, Samskrithy launched a literary award in the name of veteran Muslim League leader the late C.H. Mohammed Koya, who was also a good writer. Samskrithy also instituted "Pravasi Shreshta” Award to honor outstanding expatriate workers and Dr. Asad Mooppen was its first winner.
