Abdul Latif Jameel Company (ALJ) announced that it will recall certain vehicles from FJ Cruiser 2007 to 2013 modes for a special maintenance campaign.
According to ALJ, the campaign, which will be conducted as per the applicable regulations by the Saudi Ministry of Commerce, was already announced by Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) in Japan. Vehicles included in the campaign in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia will be announced later.
The purpose of the campaign is to install an additional support for the front seatbelt assembly due to the possibility that forceful closing of the door for elongated period could weaken the seatbelt anchor, and over time, the panel to which the retractor is mounted could develop cracks, and the retractor may become detached, according to ALJ.
The company will announce the campaign through the local newspapers when it receives full information from the manufacturer and completes preparation for the reparation.
In the same time, owners of the affected vehicles will be notified as per procedures applicable in similar recalls. ALJ said that all additions that will be installed will be free of charge.
