Contest invites Saudis to capture Hail rally photos

The Technical and Vocational Training Institue's photographic department in Jeddah and its counterpart in Hail have launched a photography contest for Saudi photographers under the slogan “Hail Rally 2013 Photo Contest.”
The contest will gather the best shots taken during the Hail rally, which started Sunday and will end tomorrow. This annual event is organized by Saudi Arabian Union for Cars and Motorcycles.
Interested candidates can participate with a maximum of three photos which they take during the rally and submit through e-mail ([email protected])
“The last day for submitting photos is today, participants still have time as they can submit the photos until tomorrow morning,” said Nasir Al-Harqan, supervisor of the photo contest “The competition is open for every one — both male and female photographers. The rule is that the pictures should be taken during the rally here,” he added.
Mohammed Eida Al-Maliki, head of the photography department, said the contest is designed to stimulate and develop the professionalism of the Saudi photographers for sports and for documenting the cultural, touristic and historical parts of the Kingdom.
He said the Hail rally always organizes photo contests, workshops, training courses to encourage Saudi photographers in cooperation with the institute under the supervision of Dr. Hamad bin Alakla, deputy governor of the Technical and Vocational Training Council (TVTC).
