Shakir guides Kanoo Travels into final

Shakir’s brilliant all round performance (54 not out and 2 wickets) guided Kanoo Travels to a facile 9- wicket victory over AXA in the semifinals of ongoing Kanoo Inter-division cricket tournament being played in Riyadh.
Sent in to bat by Travels skipper Syed Zakiuddin, AXA started badly losing their opening batsman Yousuf very early. However, the other opening batsman Arief (20), middle order batsman Azam (27) and Hakeem (11) held AXA innings together and posted 106 for 7 in their allotted over’s. Shakir (2 for 22), Vicky (2 for 19) bowled well for the bowling side.
In reply, Travels started their chase in the right earnest with both openers Riyaz (23 n.o) and Shafee (18) putting on 32 runs for the opening wicket. After Shafee’s dismissal, Shakir took center stage and blasted AXA bowlers to all parts of the ground. For AXA, Asif Sheikh took the lone wicket.
