A health campaign organized by students of the Taif University has entered the Guinness Book of World Records.
The “Your Blood Is Honey” campaign launched with the participation of 350 university students, undertook an eight-hour nonstop awareness program about diabetes for more than 9,000 people in the city. Students educated people about the ways to protect themselves against the disease, detect it early and identify the vulnerable.
Students also chalked out a plan to keep away from the disease with a healthy lifestyle of physical exercises and balanced diet.
Higher Education Minister Khaled Al-Anqari congratulated the students for their achievement in a message to the president of the Taif University, Abdul Ilah Banaja, the SPA reported.
The past record of such a campaign was held by students of a Turkish university in which 7,042 people participated.
Al-Anqari congratulated Banaja over the students’ achievement.
