Governor of Makkah Prince Khaled Al-Faisal ordered the formation of a high-power committee to supervise the projects of public transportation in the province. The committee will include representatives of 10 government agencies.
Abdul Aziz Al-Khudairi, deputy governor of Makkah and head of the committee said that Prince Khaled’s efforts to promote the governorate are in line with the development strategy to build both citizens, and the province.
The decision for the implementation of the project has been approved with all its components. The project will be executed on a seven-year phased plan. The high committee should accredit this plan, because of the importance of public transportation across the Kingdom, and to Makkah in particular.
The initial studies show that the new transportation project in Jeddah will commute 290,000 passengers, and will address traffic congestions in the city.
