Consul General Marshall Louis Alferez headed an Embassy-on-Wheels (EOW) team over the weekend to render consular services to Filipinos in the Eastern Province.
“It's important for the Philippine Embassy to reach out and deliver government services to our fellow Filipinos in Alkhobar and other areas under our jurisdiction, especially if they cannot visit us in Riyadh,” Alferez said.
He added that “visiting Alkhobar is an opportune time to meet the community in the region, which has been an invaluable partner of the embassy over the years.”
The consular outreach mission was held at the Al-Jazeera International Philippine School Dammam in Al Rakah, Alkhobar.
The EOW team was able to process 348 passport renewals, 20 new passport applications, two lost passports applications, 20 reports of birth, 210 document notariales and 49 emergency passport extensions.
Alferez added that the next EOW in Alkhobar will be on April 18-19 and reminded applicants for passport renewal to book an appointment online through the appointment system found on the embassy's website, www.philembassy-riyadh.org.
A valid email address is also needed during the booking process in order to receive confirmation. He also said that applicants who have an appointment at the EOW but have already renewed their passports in Riyadh or have multiple bookings are advised to cancel their appointments so that others can also avail of the service.
Applicants can cancel their appointments through the link found on the confirmation received or they can send an e-mail to [email protected] for assistance.
