Haramain Speed Railway beats Jokers in overtime

Haramain High Speed Railway ended the Jokers’ winning streak at two games when it won their game in overtime during the third week of action in the Bouncing 2013 1st Indomie-SBA Invitational Basketball Tournament at the newly refurbished basketball court of SNC (Safari New Camp) King Abdulaziz International Airport on the outskirts of Jeddah.
In a back-and-forth game Haramain finally won by 90-84 after the five-minute extra period.
Haramain player-coach Richard Calungcagin called a timeout with 8 seconds to play in the regulation period and Andy Jalandoni delivered hitting a buzzer-beating three-pointer that forced the game into overtime.
In the extension Haramain High Speedster gained the momentum and never looked back with a decent lead over Jokers.
It was the second straight win by the High Speedster while Jokers absorbed their first defeat in three games.
KAIA Heat, handled by coach Jerry Torrano and assistant coach Rizal De Jesus, bounced back from its last defeat by beating SBG Advance Vision basketball team mentored by M. Genson, assisted by R. Bacalso and managed by Rommel Baguio.
Point guard Michael Obcemia enjoyed a 23-point performance including free throws in the last 15 seconds for KAIA. Leo Gutierez added 15 while Mico Austria and Noel De Silva each had 7 points.
SBG Advance had four players in double figures with Bolandres scoring 17, J. Zambrona 12, C. Jalang 11 and C. Paglinawan 10.
The three months long league is organized by Safari Basketball Association (SBA-KAIA) — King Abdulaziz International Airport under the leadership of its founder-chairman-commissioner Master Nestor Cuizon Suliva, with the able support of Adviser Rey ‘Amarz’ Amarille.
