Economic ties between Saudi Arabia and Taiwan are growing, thanks to annual catalog shows and regular visits of Taiwanese trade delegations to the Kingdom, said Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s Secretary General Hussein Al-Athel.
The catalog show opened on Sunday, featuring 205 Taiwanese companies. More than 220 local businessmen attended the event. “We have also noted an increasing number of Taiwanese businessmen investing in Saudi Arabia and vice versa. We hope that bilateral economic ties will grow further,” said Al-Athel.
Ling Jinn Jong, the Taipei economic and cultural representative in Saudi Arabia, said the catalog show would be followed by a visit of a 42-member trade delegation representing 29 Taiwanese companies in June. He said Tatung and Asus, two large Taiwanese companies, were represented in the catalog show.
Tatung manufactures machinery and appliances, while Asus deals with computers.
Riyadh-based Micro-Star Int’l Co. Ltd., represented by Anwar Taher Al-Shaeb, was also included in the show.
The catalog show will also be held on April 14 in Buraidah, Qassim, and on April 21 in Hofuf, Eastern Province.
