Smart cards for patients at SHMG

Patients of Dr. Sulaiman Al-Habib Medical Group (SHMG) hospitals will soon use smart cards to get treatment, instead of using the old medical card system, said Deputy CEO of SHMG for information technology Abdulilah bin Abdulrahaman Al-Miman here recently.
Patients have to bring their identity cards and have their fingerprints taken to get the new smart cards. The entire medical history of patients will be stored on the cards, he said.
This is part of the SHMG's plan to provide quality medical services in the shortest possible time, he added. The system will also prevent fraud because people will be identified by their fingerprints. There will also be greater efficiency in the paperless system.
