Pakistani Khalid Mahmood scored the first significant victory of his golf career when he won the the BMW InterContinental Golf Championship 2013 title at the Palms Golf Club InterContinental Riyadh on Friday.
Taking advantage of ideal conditions on the first day of the two days event, Mahmoud shot the low net score of 53 to emerge the overall champion in the prestigious tournament that attracted 100 players from all over the Kingdom of 15 different nationalities.
This major victory was the fruit of hard work, determination and dedication for Mahmoud whose first day score went unchallenged as players that teed it up on the second day of the competition battled tough playing conditions.
The course was in excellent condition, greens perfect and pin positions were exceptionally challenging even for the well experienced players.
During the awarding ceremony Mounir Melliti, recreation manager at InterContinental Riyadh, thanked the sponsor and players for their great support. Assistant Golf Manager Baby Joseph, who organized the event with golf professional Mohammad Anwar Naz congratulated the winners.
An official representative of Mohamed Yousuf Naghi Motors thanked the players and awarded the prizes to the winners, who all received BMW crystal trophies and golf equipment of well known brands.

For his feat, Mahmoud took home a Callaway RazrX Black golf set and crystal trophy.
Defending champion Resty Sibug finished two strokes back of the new champion on 55 but he still had reasons to celebrate, as his net score of 55 gave him the A-division (handicap 0-6) crown while also claiming the Best Gross title on 58.
Alex Arellano completed a 1-2 Filipino finish in the division after carding a 58 for the runner-up prize.
In the B-division (7-12 ) two Korean golfers were neck to neck until the last hole. In the end, T.W. Kim emerged winner with a net score of 57 while Chang Yeol Kim settled for runner-up on 58.
In the C-division (13-18) Swedish golfer Rashid Anas won the championship with a net 55, one under par, for his first big victory. Korean golfer Sam Moon Kim was runner-up on 61.
In the Ladies Division Sigrid Thorhallson won the championship with Korean Jin Soon Kim taking the runner-up position.
The nearest to the pin awards went to Saudi golf enthusiast Abdulaziz Kridis and Iceland golfer Einar Thorhallson.
A sumptuous dinner followed the awarding ceremony.
