CSC discusses Saudization problems in agricultural sector

The Saudization of the agricultural sector in the Kingdom is more difficult than in other economic sectors, a study by the national agricultural committee of the Council of Saudi Chambers (CSC) has found. The study suggests using seasonal and temporary labor to help alleviate employment problems in the agricultural sector.
The committee discussed the employment problems the sector faces and ways of dealing with those problems with the Minister of Agriculture, Fahd Balghonaim.
The study also indicated that directorates should focus on creating sustainable agriculture, organizing vegetable markets and supervising those involved in agriculture.
It is important to have strong agricultural cooperative societies to act as a base for agricultural workers, the study said. It called on applying the Council of Ministers’ decision to ration water.
