EOW renders consular services to OFWs in EP

Philippine Embassy Consul General Marshall Louis M. Alferez led a five-member Embassy on Wheels (EOW) team last recently to provide consular services to Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in the Eastern Province.
The EOW team processed 712 passport applications, 55 passport extensions, 23 birth registrations, 128 notarial and authentication services and released 329 new passports at the Al-Jazeera International School in Dammam.
The turnout for the apointments was at its highest, with around 70 percent of those who set an appointment showing up as scheduled.
“We ask applicants to cancel their appointments on the system if they will not be able to make it so that the embassy can serve other OFWs seeking service from us,” Alferez said.
He also thanked the Filipino community in the region, especially the volunteers who have helped make the embassy’s consular missions successful.
The EOW will return to Al-Khobar on May 23-24 to also render various cultural services.
Passport renewal is by appointment, and applicants are advised to visit the embassy website www.philembassy-riyadh.org to secure an appointment through the online system.
The embassy also reiterated its advise to all Filipinos to check the validity of their passports and to ensure these are valid for at least 6 months after the period of intended travel as all countries do not allow travel with a passport that has a validity of less than six months.
