Kidwai releases Qadri’s Big Book volume

Indian Consul General Faiz Ahmed Kidwai released on Thursday one of the volumes of prominent writer Yousuf Qadri’s historic work.
The event was organized by the United Andhra Pradesh Forum, an umbrella organization of 22 associations, in close cooperation with the Urdu Academy of Jeddah and the Space Urdu Academy of Chicago.
The volume, titled “Parcham-e-Islam” (Flag of Islam), is part of Qadri’s monumental treatise called 21st Century’s Big Book of the World. Qadri is a US-based Indian of Hyderabad origin. Among the prominent speakers and guests at the event were Aijaz Ahmed Khan, Syed Ali Mahmood, Syed Jamalullah Qadri, Shameem Kausar, Aleem Khan Falki, Syed Khaja Viqaruddin, Mahtab Qadr, Hasan Bayazeed, Yousufuddin Amjad and Arif Qureshi.
Viqaruddin welcomed the consul general and special guests Yousuf Qadri, Taufeeq Ansari and Muneeruz Zaman.
“The work that Yousuf Qadri did will provide Urdu a respectable place in the world becuase he has written the world’s biggest book of Urdu poetry,” said Jamalullah Qadri, president of the Jeddah Urdu Academy. “We hope it will be included in the Guinness Book of World Records,” he said.
Aijaz Ahmed Khan congratulated the writer and said that when an intelligent and wise poet captures the beauty of the universe with words, he opens the doors to the secrets of this world. “Yousuf Qadri’s work has opened up a new chapter in Urdu literature,” he said.
Muneeruz Zaman of Space Urdu Academy of Chicago said the mega book is in both English and Urdu, and consists of 11 volumes pertaining to different aspects of life — from the Islamic culture to historical facts of the present day, outlined in poetic idioms in general. The first volume was released in Chicago and the second one in Jeddah,” he said.
The book contains 11,111 pages and 11 volumes, and each volume has its own title. The current volume, “Parcham-e-Islam,” contains universal subjects about Islam, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the journey of Islam.
The consul general congratulated the author and UAPF for organizing the event. He appreciated Qadri’s efforts at writing such a huge book.
“Writing a normal book is very difficult (in itself) but he has written such a big book with different subjects … It is really an amazing work (of art). We are happy to be part of this program. Urdu is not only promoted by Muslims but by all Indians worldwide,” he said.
