Etihad Airways has wrapped up its program of activities at the Arabian Travel Market conference and exhibition hosted in Dubai.
The airline’s bustling stand brought together VIPs and visitors across various industries keen to meet the Etihad Airways’ team and understand the airline’s group offer, its latest destinations and holidays packages and subsidiary companies such as Hala Abu Dhabi and Etihad Holidays.
Peter Baumgartner, chief commercial officer and Abdul Qader Hussein Ahmed, Etihad Airways’ vice president, government and international affairs, welcomed prominent guests including Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al-Maktoum, president of the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and chairman of the Emirates Group, Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al-Nahyan, chairman of Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority, flydubai’s CEO Ghaith Al-Ghaith and US Ambassador to the UAE Michael Corbin.
During his visit to Etihad Airways’ stand, Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoun Al-Nahyan, praised the national airline’s vital role in promoting Abu Dhabi and the UAE as a global destination.
Peter Baumgartner said: “We are delighted to have been involved in this important event. It reinforces the airline’s contribution in presenting the Emirate of Abu Dhabi as a key destination in the world. The airline has an important role in supporting the vision for economic diversification and sustainability of Abu Dhabi.”
A highlight of the stand was the Georgetown Cupcake bakery, turning out fresh, delicious cupcakes to mark the recently-launched Abu Dhabi — Washington DC route.
The team of three chefs flown out from the exclusive bakery worked with Etihad Airways’ own First Class chefs to bake more than 9,000 of the legendary confections which had visitors queuing around the stand, just like they do at the iconic bakery in Washington.
