Saudi Arabia has condemned the recent bombings in the town of Reyhanli in southern Turkey in which dozens were killed or injured.
“The Cabinet stressed the Kingdom’s condemnation of terrorism in all forms and manifestations, including attacks on places of worship,” Minister of Culture and Information Abdul Aziz Khoja said following the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers chaired by Crown Prince Salman, deputy premier and minister of defense, at the Al-Salam Palace in Jeddah yesterday.
The Cabinet also expressed the Kingdom's condolences to the relatives of the victims of the blasts, wishing the injured a speedy recovery.
“The council also condemned the arrest of the Mufti of Jerusalem and Palestine Sheikh Mohammed Hussein by Israeli authorities and denounced the decision to build 296 new housing units in the West Bank,” Khoja said.
The Cabinet urged the international community to force Israel to stop its military aggression in the Palestinian territories.
The Cabinet reiterated the Kingdom's firm stance in the Syrian crisis and called on the international community to reach a solution to problem.
The Cabinet discussed the Kingdom’s participation and recognition of the private sector’s role in advancing sustainable development at a recent meeting on climate in Germany. The Kingdom stressed the fact that climate policies should not harm the market and generate an environment that is not conducive to business and investment in such a vital sector.
The council also was briefed on the Kingdom’s participation at the 4th Annual Energy Forum, which was held in Istanbul, in which Saudi Arabia reiterated its commitment to a steady supply of oil in order to maintain the stability of crude prices.
The Cabinet was also briefed on a university-level forum on the Arabic language in the Gulf Cooperation Council countries held in Riyadh and the eighth Euromoney conference.
The Cabinet authorized the minister of finance to sign a draft agreement with Hungary for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of tax evasion.
It also decided to amend certain articles of an agreement between the Kingdom and Sudan for cooperation in combating drug trafficking following discussions with Sudan. The Cabinet authorized the minister of interior to discuss the matter with Sudanese officials.
The Cabinet also authorized the president of the General Authority for Civil Aviation to discuss concluding an agreement in the field of air transport services with Australia.
The minister of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, Call and Guidance was authorized to discuss regulating the activities of the Centre of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in Yaoundé and its Islamic subsidiaries with officials in Cameroon.
The Cabinet approved the appointments of Abdul Aziz Al-Khanin as adviser at the Ministry of Civil Service, Abdullah Al-Saqr as director-general of the Office of the Minister of Municipal and Rural Affairs, Badr Al-Sudairi as civil engineer adviser at the Ministry of Municipal and Rural Affairs, Ali Al-Shehri as economic adviser at the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Saud Katib as director-general of Foreign Media in the Makkah province at the Ministry of Culture and Information and Rashid Al-Rashid as director-general of legal affairs at the Ministry of Civil Service.
