After a five straight weeks reign as Team of the Week by Fed X Ally the bar got even higher as Lance & 3rdy scored a rare perfect grand slam during the sixth week in the OFBC Friday Morning League Season 1 at the Ice Land Bowling Center.
Lance & 3rdy posted the maximum possible total win points of 30 on the way to the Team of the Week award and two of its players, Elo Manalo and Shirley Sagmit emerged Bowlers of the Week for a perfect grand slam in a first of any team in the five-man team league event organized by Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club Western Region.
Captained by Ric Reformado, Lance & 3rdy shut out Nomac 20-0 on total pinfalls of 2,558-2,005 and rank points of 10-2.
In an eventful week Fed X Ally absorbed its first defeat of the tournament while Mixed Shots and D’ Mountaineers both won by 20-0 over Jandel’s Pride (2,891-2,563 9-3) and D’ Cyclone (2,738-2,505 7-1), respectively.
D’ Luf’s Strikers ended Fed X’s unbeaten run with an 11-9 victory in their match on total pinfalls of 2,722-2,747 and rank points of 8-6.
In the other match, Pairs and Spares hammered out a decisive 12-8 win over Flexibowl on total pinfalls of 2,658-2712 and rank points of 4-5.
Class B bowler Manalo fired the high series of 685 on lines of 267, 197 and 173 and Sagmit outbowled everyone else on the distaff side with a 615 as they took charge at Lance.
Evelyn Santoc and Reformado likewise went the distance for Lance, shooting 593 and 574 while the remaining three games were shared by Steve Historillo (160-136) and Med Ramos (140).
Vic Gonzales and Vangie Lim presided the Mixed Shots attack with rounds of 619 and 613, while Jojo Esperanzate and Carms Lim added 571 and 502. Ryan Okol contributed 150 and skipper Jerry “Ka Imo” Carredo tallied 145-211.
D’ Mountaineers, trailing Fed X by 20 points at the start of the day, closed the gap to 159-154 in the team standings at the end of the session thanks mainly to the duo of Ric Tibayan 610 and Hadi Pacheco 567. Lourdes Punzalan made 515 to go with two-game contributions from Ding Dela Rosa 157-184, Joel Nidoy 161-180 and team captain Rudy Jamon 136-148.
Luf’s edged out Fed X with a stronger scratch sets with Caloy Nuguit and Jay Bengco at the helm of the scoring on 580 nad 578. Aileen Miralbuna was the other player to do full games on 477, while Roger Daquioag rolled 173-190, Ruel Santoc 157-147 and Daryl Loquias 165-191.
A pair of 550s from skipper Jun Estefano and Akang Victorino boosted Pairs & Spares with Conrad Baltazar on 499, Joey Calapatia 150-161, Obie Ycasas 154-158 and Rey Beltran 135-221.
