Oman Air has appointed a new airport service manager to its team at Abu Dhabi International Airport, UAE.
Following extensive induction training, Gheitha Suleiman Salim Al Hosny, an Omani citizen, has joined the team at Abu Dhabi.
Wayne Pearce, Oman Air’s CEO, welcomed the appointee to her new role.
She has strong track record within Oman Air and was appointed in the face of stiff competition, said the CEO.
“Gheitha is also the first Omani woman we have appointed to the key international position and I am sure that she will provide great inspiration for other Omani women who are considering a career in aviation,” said Pearce.
Prior to her appointment in Abu Dhabi, Gheitha Suleiman Salim Al-Hosny began her career with Oman Air in 1994 as a lounge receptionist, rising to acting duty manager at Muscat International Airport.
While Oman Air operates a fully transparent recruitment policy and employs a multi-national workforce across its 42-destination network, the national carrier of Oman is also committed to supporting career development within Oman and assisting Omani workers to achieve their full potential.
This approach dovetails with the country’s policy of Omanization and has seen highly experienced and well-qualified Omanis appointed to positions at every level of the company.
Omani citizens now comprise two thirds of Oman Air’s workforce.
