New Sri Lankan envoy

The report, “New Sri Lankan envoy pledges quality service,” (June 1) gives immense pleasure to all Sri Lankans in the Kingdom. Although he has come at a time when all the embassies and consulates in the Kingdom are preoccupied with Nitaqat issues, his promise to provide his countrymen with quality service is highly commendable.
I had the privilege of talking to our new ambassador, Vadivel Krishnamoorthy, a few weeks ago, while he was paying a courtesy call to the governor of the Western Province, in his office in Colombo.
He told me then that he was looking forward to his countrymen’s support when he takes up the new assignment in Riyadh. He deserves every bit of cooperation to make our embassy a model mission for quality services as he promises.
I am sure that our compatriots are well aware of the excellent relationship the Saudi ambassador in Colombo, Abdul Aziz Abdul Rahman Al-Jammaz, has established with our government as well as the general public in Sri Lanka. We have no doubt whatsoever that our new ambassador will do equally well, with his wide experience in this field. We wish him all the best. — S.H.Moulana, Riyadh
