The founder of the Sri Lankan International School in Riyadh died at a hospital in Colombo on Sunday.
Amin Yusuf, attorney-at-law in Sri Lanka, was a legal officer of the Riyadh-based ABB at the time he founded the school, which is the first of its kind in the Middle East. The school accorded him a fitting farewell when he left the Kingdom on his final retirement last year.
As an active member in the Sri Lankan community, Yusuf played an effective role in framing the constitution of the Sri Lankan Expatriates Society in Riyadh. He had also helped the society in editing its annual magazine
He is survived by his wife Unaizah, two sons and two daughters. One of his daughters, Farzana Jameel, is the present solicitor general in Sri Lanka.
Yusuf’s funeral took place in Colombo on Monday.
