Be sincere to Pakistan

My question with all the Pakistani politicians and generals is that why does the Pakistani nation have to pay the price for their misdeeds? They plunder the wealth of the nation and save their black money in Swiss accounts, or invest them in some other parts of the world. They borrow hefty loans from IMF without giving any relief to the people. These loans have not done any good to people. They have raised the debt of this country to an unbearable point. Why Pakistan’s foreign reserves are kept in the bank of other countries? Don’t they know that the world powers at the time of sanction can freeze Pakistani reserves?
We have been watching new Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, his Cabinet and ministers very carefully and have noticed that he still has those people in the Cabinet who had misguided him in 1998 to freeze the dollar accounts. The same individuals advised him to force international airlines to land at Lahore airport instead of Karachi airport for refueling and these airlines refused it and left Pakistan, which deprived the nation of this source of income.

This poor advice has cost the nation very dearly. Now Dubai and Abu Dhabi airports are reaping the fruits due to the ill advices of those ministers. Sharif should have kept these people at bay. But instead he has given them top positions in his latest dispensation. They are not in the good books of people even though they may enjoy good relations with world powers, which is what puts in doubt the sincerity of the new government to run the nation honestly.

With all due respect, before Sharif asks the nation to sacrifice for Pakistan, can he and his ministers and other politicians prove their own loyalty with the nation by bringing their wealth back to Pakistan? Can they formulate a law that bans corruption; and those found guilty of corruption should be hanged till death? Unfortunately corruption is so rampant in the society that the government has to really take strict measures.
The government has to really come up to people’s expectation and bring honest people in the Cabinet if it really means business. Bring in those who are sincere and their loyalty are not with other countries. Hope Sharif this time will learn some lessons and become sincere with the country. — Shah Affan, Toronto
