The Ministry of Commerce and Industry recently raided the offices of a company named Majesty, which had been dealing with business projects.
The company allegedly defrauded a number of clients by making them believe they are offered job opportunities with a pay in the range of SR 6,000.
The company required the applicants to take training courses and pay for them. They also required that the applicants bring along some other clients in order “to benefit from the job offers at the company.”
The move came as the ministry received complaints from some people that they had been cheated by Majesty.
They said they were offered job opportunities at lucrative salaries, but on the condition that they take a training course at a cost of SR 2,850. The applicant was then issued a certificate claiming it is accredited by an international institute.
It turned out that the said institute had revoked the accreditation, yet the company continued to promote the certificate, which is not approved by any academic entity.
The company, which is run by an Arab national, canceled the agreement to employ the candidates who had brought along other clients. The company claimed that it changed its policy.
