ISLAMABAD: A Pakistan government lawyer says former captain Majid Khan is among three candidates for the post of acting chairman of the Pakistan Cricket Board.
Lawyer Irfanullah informed Islamabad High Court judge Shaukat Aziz Siddique that commentator Chishtie Mujahid and former chief of the Federal Board of Revenue Mumtaz Haider Rizvi are the other two candidates.
Irfanullah also informed the judge that the names have been forwarded to prime minister Nawaz Sharif, who will select the winning candidate.
Last month, Siddique suspended Zaka Ashraf, terming his election as PCB chairman “polluted” after a petition filed by a former cricket official from Rawalpindi.
Siddique asked the government to appoint a new PCB chairman by end of this week and inform the court on June 24.
