A Jeddah Mayoralty official has been sentenced by an administrative court to two years in jail for forging official papers and giving bribe to get a municipal contract for his relative.
A businessman involved in the incident was given a year in jail for exploiting the official position.
An expatriate, accused of involvement in the scandal, has been acquitted.
The Control and Investigation Board had accused the mayoralty official of leaking information to his relative about the lowest tender given for a project aimed at covering water tanks in the city to fight dengue fever.
