This refers to the report "It’s a Friday-Saturday weekend" (June 24). As per the royal decree all public sector organizations, banks and government offices will have Friday-Saturday weekend and this is a very wise move. As a matter of fact, it will strengthen Kingdom’s business with international companies that have Saturday-Sunday weekend Generally half of the day on Friday is consumed in doing weekend chores, buying household things from the market, washing clothes and ironing them and once Saturday is a day off, it will give added relief to everybody.
Apart from this, Saturday and Sunday are days off globally, and this move will boost Kingdom’s international business as the royal decree rightly said: “The new decision was taken to bring the working days of Saudi government departments and national institutions closer to their foreign counterparts.”
Friday-Saturday weekend should also be applied to private sector employees as it will have good effect on them and increase their productivity.
