Panasonic brings ‘Sesame Street’ to Jeddah festival

Favorite Sesame Street characters returned to the Kingdom to entertain children at the Jeddah Gheer 34 Festival with a show titled “Let’s Discover the Treasure,” which ran at Sheikh Ismail Abu Dawood Hall at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The shows had a high turnout and, as well as being a favorite with children, won the approval of parents who in an opinion poll unanimously agreed that the Sesame Street show is not only first class entertainment but also educational in Athat it teaches important values to their children.
Norihiro Ohara, director general of the Saudi Arabia Office for Panasonic MEA, said: “We have sponsored this event from the beginning because it raises important topics such as the environment and energy conservation, which converge with the main issues adopted by Panasonic.”
Ohara said: “The important educational messages and goals that the Sesame Street show carries will surely benefit the community as part of Panasonic’s contribution to the Kingdom’s social development.”
The Sesame Street shows are part of the Sesame Workshop initiative, which is universally recognized as a non-profit organization working in the field of media through partnership between the public and private sectors to promote educational initiatives.
Panasonic plans to become the first among international companies to specialize in developing and manufacturing electronic products that help to preserve the environment in the MEA, a goal that comes within the framework of the group’s commitment to lead the global efforts to innovate in the field of safety concepts and environmental sustainability by 2018, which is the year Panasonic celebrates its 100-year anniversary.
