Agriculture, industrial sectors make solid gains

The Saudi stock market depicted a positive drive yesterday, as the Tadawul All-Share Index (TASI) edged higher to 7,567.43, up 70.86 points or 0.95 percent from previous level.
On a year-to-date basis, the index crossed a positive return of 11.2 percent.
All market cap indices finished to the upside, with Med Cap advancing more than one percent.
Eleven out of Tadawul’s fifteen sectors extended gains, reflecting an accumulation of 961.5 points.
Agriculture and Industrial Investment were best performing sectors of the day, surging by 1.66 percent and 1.61 percent respectively.
Media and Publishing sector, on the other hand, switched its position from top performer of previous day to the worst performing sector of the day, declining by 3.96 percent. Saudi Printing & Packaging Company delivered a largely negative performance, slipping 9.97 percent for the day.
Most of heavy weights witnessed a positive change yesterday. Al-Rajhi Bank and Samba Financial Group performed well relatively, achieving a daily growth of 2.08 percent and 1.5 percent respectively.
The market breadth was strong for the day as 117 stocks witnessing advances and other 30 stocks marking a decline.
Saudi Pharmaceutical Industries and Saudi Steel Pipe Company topped the performance chart at Tadawul, soaring up 5.77 percent and 4.63 percent respectively.
Market activity remained a little high as compared to previous day; turnover went up by 17.3 percent on volume basis and 14.1 percent in terms of liquidity.
More than 184 million shares worth SR 4.9 billion changed hands on the Saudi stock market. The 50-day average for trading volume is closer to 246.8 million shares.
Trading activity was led by Atheeb Telecom, which liquidated over 19 million shares, a relative market share of 10.4 percent. Alinma Bank followed it, pouring 16.9 million shares and advancing 2.2 percent.
