Committee ensures smooth flow of traffic in Jeddah

The Jeddah municipality has worked closely with other authorities to ensure the smooth flow of traffic in the city since the beginning of the year. Ten public and private agencies dealing directly with traffic flow liaised to guarantee positive results and ensure the safety of drivers, citizens and visitors, a local newspaper reported.
Jeddah Gov. Prince Meshaal bin Majed ordered the formation of a committee that included the Jeddah mayoralty, Roads and Transport Administration, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Saudi Aramco, National Water Company, Jeddah Islamic Port, Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Road Security Special Forces and the Jeddah Traffic Department.
The committee is tasked with the mission of organizing the flow of traffic and the entrance of large trucks into city limits.
There was also continued collaboration to implement the mechanisms defined to limit the random movement of big trucks through the allocation of tasks to the various bodies.
Accident, injury and death rates have decreased since the beginning of the campaign compared with the same period last year.
