Road crash kills eight of a family

Eight members of a family were killed on Thursday night in a major road accident in Aflaj, some 300 km from the capital.
The dead were the driver, his two wives and five children. According to sources, the family was going to the Abha hill station for their summer holiday. There were 12 people in the vehicle; the other five escaped with bruises. A funeral for the victims took place in the same area where the accident took place. The survivors received medical treatment from the Al-Aflaj hospital and are reported out of danger.
A tweet from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Foreign Ministry denied Saturday that those involved in the Abha accident were Emiratis. Hospital authorities have not yet been available to confirm the nationality of the victims.
