A completion to the training plan for the faculty members of Batterjee Medical College for Sciences and Technology, with an agreement of academic cooperation between the college and the University of Maastricht.
Batterjee Medical College has sent a number of faculty members from the human medicine program to be trained in the Netherlands.
Hasan Shaibah, vice dean of academic affairs, lead the delegation in this trip, and stated that the development of training skills is vital and its one of the major interests of this college.
Plus, Batterjee Medical College is already cooperating with the University of Maastricht, which is one of the top universities that care about medical education, a journey of two weeks included training the faculty members in a series of courses for the sake of developing personal and teaching skills, research capabilities, leadership, and quality assurance in the education process, those courses focused on the basics of medical education based on problem solving and the formulation of medical dilemmas, discussion groups management, and modern standards to assess the students, in addition to the modern methods of training on clinical skills.
Dr. Khalid Batterjee, dean of the college, confirmed the college adoption and implementation of the concepts and practices of continuous self development of the professional capabilities of human resources.
Batterjee also clarified that the faculty members are in pace with developments in the fields of teaching methods, research skills, quality and academic accreditation programs, how to design curriculums, and modern electronic learning programs.
Identifying new theories in this area will deepen their teaching abilities and enhance the improvement of the overall output quality and status of the college.
Sobhi Batterjee, chairman of the board of trustees, said the college continues to maintain quality assurance and accreditation in all instructional programs and plans.
