Ali Al-Mahdi, a ten-year-old Saudi boy, has flown a Jairo copter at least 1,000 feet above the ground, local media reported.
According to the report, it did not take long to accomplish the rare milestone, as the boy was given four months of continuous training. He then obtained a license from the school of paragliding at the Saudi Aviation Club with the permission of the Civil Aviation Authority.
For his part, the father of the child, Abdullah Al-Mahdi, said that his son was inspired by flying since he entered primary school six years ago and hopes to study aviation in the future.
His fluency in English earned him the ability to learn directly from his coach, John, and acquire basic skills in paragliding, he said, adding that the cost of obtaining a license in this field amounted to SR40,000.
