Flexibowl claimed its maiden Team of the Week award in style, scoring perfect 30 total win points and winning the men’s Bowler of the Week plum courtesy of Cesar Pagtalunan during the 12 th session in the OFBC Friday Morning League Season 1 at the Ice Land Bowling Center.
Falling victim to the Flexibowl’s rampage was Pairs and Spares of Jun Estefano, which was shut out 20-0 on total pinfalls of 2,770-2,640.
A sideshow to the session was the marquee clash between leaders Fed X Ally and D’ Mountaineers which ended in a decisive 16-4 on total pinfalls of 2,755-2,651 rank points of 9-6 and total win points of 25-10 to Mountaineers.
The result enabled Mountaineers to cut Fed X lead to 11 from 26 at the start of the session.
Lance & 3rdy and Mixed Shots wound up tied on 27 points following decisive victories against the bottom teams of the the tournament.
Lance crushed D’ Cyclone 19-1 on total pinfalls of 2,748-2,385 and rank points of 8-1 while Mixed Shots shut out Nomac 20-0 on total pinfalls of 2,711-2,433 and rank points of 7-2.
In the other match, D’ Luf’s Strikers brought down Jandel’s Pride 12-8 (2,261-2,212 4-3 16-3).
Team captain Pagtalunan’s strong performance rubbed off on his teammates with lady bowler Farida Guzman on 555, Tirso Bambalan 547, Alex Flora 544 and Jameel Cabrera 513.
The duo of Rene Punzalan and Lourdes Punzalan delivered the big blows for Mountaineers with rounds of 578 and 573, while George Mangaliman added 537, Hadi Pacheo 177-161, Ric Tibayan 147-149 and Imelda Sayago 139-152.
Evelyn Santoc was the ladies Bowler of the Week on 586 as she led the Lance charge against the hapless Cyclone.
Shirley Sagmit and Elo Manalo backed up Santoc on 552 and 547. Team captain Ric Reformado on 510 was the other player to do full games, while Steve Historillo added 154-143 and Jun de Dios had 168.
Mixed Shots gathered its total from the single set of five players led by skipper Jerry “Ka Imo” Carredo who carded 559. Carms Lim contributed 554 while her parents Toto and Vangie had matching cards of 543. Jojo Esparanzate was the team’s fifth player on 512.
Edu Toledo was the leading scorer at D’ Luf’s on 562 followed by team captain Jay Bengco 544, Aileen Miralbuna 523 and Ruel Santoc 502.
