Dr. Sami Badaoud, director of Health Affairs in Jeddah, endorsed the establishment of five new buildings at the psychiatric hospital at a total cost of SR4.792 million to be paid from the self-financing account at Jeddah Health Affairs.
The director of self-finance management, Saleh Al-Harbi, said that the project will include a building dedicated for elders and inpatients, one for emergency services and three for patient wards.
“This will contribute to the development of medical and treatment services available for Jeddah residents,” he said.
Al-Harbi said that the project is the biggest of its kind throughout the Kingdom in terms of costs, which will be funded by internally generated revenues from within the different facilities of the Health Ministry.
He noted that the Health Affairs directorate in Jeddah greatly benefited from the self-finance fund. The fund helped in launching several health projects in Jeddah, as well as other awareness activities that aim to boost services presented to all segments of society.
“The ultimate goal is the welfare of citizens in accordance with the directions of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques to serve the Kingdom’s nationals.”
