Prince Faisal pays visit to scouts at Makkah

Prince Faisal bin Abdullah bin Mohammed Al-Saud, chairman of the Scout Association of Saudi Arabia and minister of education, paid a visit to Makkah on Sunday and expressed his appreciation for the services rendered by the young scouts to pilgrims at the holy mosques in Makkah and Madinah, especially in the last ten days of Ramadan.
The visit was organized by the Technical and Vocational Training Council (TVTC) in collaboration with Makkah security authorities.
Prince Faisal appreciated and admired the organizers of the program, their efforts and dedication, in addition to leaders and officials of the Makkah’s TVTC branch, Saudi Scouts Association and Makkah Haram security.
Walid Felemban, supervisor of the scouts technical program, said the aim of the pilgrims service program is to serve the guests of the Two Holy Mosques, especially in the last ten days of Ramadan, when the number of visitors increases. This is done under the supervision of the Ministry of Education in cooperation with other authorities.
Felemban said that the scouts’ participation in religious affairs and duties is part of their moral values and education. He said the main task of the scouts is to help all in need through all means.
Their duty is also to cooperate with different ministries and agencies in the implementation of different functions within the campus, as well as to facilitate the traffic movement of cars and the movement of people inside the Mosques.
Felemban said that the participation of scouts in the program is also important for their training and education, adding that engaging in such activity will also help them in understating how the government plans and implements different programs to help facilitate the movement of pilgrims and visitors to the Holy Mosques.
