Community celebrates Eid at Pak Embassy

Nearly 300 guests attended an Eid celebration party held at the premises of the Pakistan Embassy in Riyadh.
The event was organized by women’s groups and their families consisting of Shahbaz Latif, Khalid Raja, Razaur Rahman and supported by Dr. Mansoor Memon. Ambassador of Pakistan Muhammad Naeem Khan and his wife were the chief guests.
It was sponsored by individuals and companies such as Arif Polani, Daud Ahmed, Mamoor Elahi, Arif Mirza, Faryad Chaudry, Dr. Saeed Jutt, Nadeem Tarin, Baber Ali, Shafqat Ali Khan, Bashir Chaudry, Shamshad Siddiqui, Asghar Qureshi, Abdul Hameed Farooq, Yaser Ahmed of NOVOTEL Hotel, Lulu Supermarket, Marriott, Marhabba Hotel, Qarshi beverages and McDonalds, among others.
The program was in two segments with dinner served in the first half. The second session began with recitation of the Holy Qur’an by Ali Raja. Shumaila Shahbaz, who conducted the proceedings, thanked the Pakistan Embassy, the ambassador and his wife for supporting the event and appreciated the sponsors for being generous towards the community event. She thanked all participants for their support.
She expressed appreciation at Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for being supportive and helpful to expats, especially Pakistanis living in the Kingdom.
Young boys paid tribute to the Kingdom and its culture singing songs and playing different musical instruments. They also did a catwalk wearing smart and dazzling clothes.
A variety of acts from old-time cinema of Pakistan with glimpses of Sabiha Santosh (Mr. and Mrs. Aqueel Khan), Nadeem Shabnam (Mr. and Mrs. Shamim), Rangeela Nisho (Adil Shahbaz and Mrs. Kashif), Sultan Rahi Anjuman (Mr. and Mrs. Shahbaz Latif), Noor Jehan (Mrs. Sajjda Jehangir) were presented by couples. Farah Shamim presented a parody of Abida Parveen.
Dances, and quiz formed part of the program, and gifts were presented to the participants.
Several Umrah tickets, international ticket, refrigerator, TV, washing machine, lunch/dinner vouchers from Marriott Courtyard, Novotel Hotels, Lulu discount vouchers and NADEC gift hampers were given.
Ambassador Khan applauded the efforts of the organizing committee. He elaborated the achievement of Pakistan Embassy during the last 18 months which included folk and music events and stressed the need to promote Pakistani culture in the Kingdom.
