The Jeddah Health Affairs Department (JHAD) has said that it has called for tenders for procurement of furniture and equipment for 300-bed east Jeddah hospital.
The contract, valued at about SR241 million, will be awarded to firms specializing in the area concerned.
Abs Ar Rahman As Sahafi, director of Public Relations at JHAD, said work was underway to achieve the best result in the health sector. “We are working on completion of new medical projects. Work will also commence on the out-patient clinics in the complex of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques in northern Jeddah. The overall capacity of the complex is estimated at 1,100 beds,” he said.
Sahafi said that work will be completed on the expansion project of the intensive care unit of King Fahd Hospital in Jeddah. “We have allocated SR120 million for this expansion. Work will begin next month,” he said.
“The kidney center at King Fahd Hospital is about to be completed. It will be operational by the beginning of next year. All these projects will help us better the medical services system in Jeddah Governorate area, as well as provide quality medical treatment to patients,” he said.
