D’ Mountaineers hit perfect score of 30 in OFBC Friday Morning League

D’ Mountaineers conjured a perfect win points tally of 30 points as the Team of the Week in a morale-boosting performance during the 14th session in the OFBC Friday Morning League Season 1 at the Ice Land Bowling Center.
While administering the 20-0 shutout on Mixed Shots D’Mountaineers compiled the highest total pinfalls of 2,986 that gave them the top rank points of 10.
And with assist from Lance & 3rdy D’ Mountaineers are suddenly only a point shy of league leader Fed X Ally from 15 at the start of the day, as the race for No. 1 heated up with a full month left in the eliminations in the five-man team league evenet organized by Overseas Filipino Bowlers Club Western Region.
Lance, another team staking a claim for the No. 1 spot, held Fed X to 16 total win points in their match that ended 12-8 for Lance on total pinfalls of 2,957-2,936 and rank points of 9-8.
Lance ended the session on 21 total win points in third place behind D’ Mountaineers 30, Jandel’s Pride and, surprisingly, Nomac 23.
Jandel’s Pride recorded the only other 20-0 shutout win of the day against Flexibowl on total pinfalls of 2,633-2,268 and rank points of 4-1, while Nomac brought down Pairs & Spares 18-2 (2,660-2,421 5-2).
In the other match that produced the individual awardees, D’ Luf’s Strikers defeated D’ Cyclone 12-8 on total pinfalls of 2,824-2,864, rank points of 6-7 and total win points of 18-15.
May Lourdes of Luf’s claimed her second ladies Bowler of the Week accolade on 596 while Cyclone’s Tom Langa clinched his first award on the men’s side with 651 on scratch games of 194, 154 and 207.
George Mangaliman on 636 and Malou Nidoy on 594 wielded the big stick for Mountaineers with team captian Rudy “RJ” Jamon on 588 and Ding dela Rosa on 561. Ric Tibayan added 167-188 and Hadi Pacheco 188.
Jandel’s stuck to a single set of five players to built its total with Jana Delia Felesmina leading the way on 588. Fred Cuenca followed on 565, skipper Bob Stone 553, Archie Alcantara 498 and Usman de Guzman 459.
Bottom team Nomac had reason to cheer, if only for a week, after posting totals in the win over Pairs thanks mainly to Alex Torres and skipper Allan Salamanes who led the charge on 584 and 582 respectively. Jun Ejanda added 520, Mildred Florentino had 439 while Cris Villavelez made 170-190 and Jayme Lugue 141.
Lance had Edris Mangoda as the main man on 599 followed by Igna Salgado 576, Evelyn Santoc 573 and Med Ramos 568. Team captain Ric Reformado tossed in 225 and Elo Manalo 170-214.
In addition to Lourdes the others who helped advance Luf’s cause were Jay Bengco 592, Caloy Nuguit 580, Ruel Santoc 156-161, Dariel Loquias 177-148 and Roger Daquioag 181-169.
