Reality and expectation will be the theme of the upcoming Social Networking Conference in Riyadh to be organized by Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University.
Universty Rector Suleiman bin Abdullah Aba Al-Khail said that the conference aims to study gauge reality and expectations surrounding social media in Saudi society. The date of the event has so far not been set.
It will also discuss religion and legal positions with special reference to ethical issues when dealing with social media, in addition to any possible negative effects social media may have on society. The event will display contemporary expertise and experience, in addition to potential benefits of such outlets within Saudi society.
Aba Al-Khail noted the importance of social media and the increasing role it plays in communities and how to take advantage of such new-found tools of communication.
