Jem Strikers got on board as Team of the Week, becoming the fifth different team to be so honored during the sixth session in the FTBJ-ICBL Novarino Inter-Company Bowling League 32nd Conference at Jeddah Lanes here.
On a day where teams struggled to score Jem returned the top tally of 34 points.
The previous week honoree Hidada matched league leader Alanson’s total of 32 points as it dislodged Cristal Global from second place in the team standings after Cristal came up with a mere 16 points, seventh place on the day.
Sky Freight-TFC compiled 26.5 points while Jeddah Lanes rounded out the teams to cross 20 points on 24.5.
Lance & 3rdy notched up 19 points, while Falcon, JM Derby and D’ Barkads were the last three teams during the session on 15, 11 and 10 points.
Winning the race for the individual Bowler of the Week award were Hidada’s Romy Bunagan on the men’s side and Thess Marasigan on the ladies division. Bunagan shot the high series of 678 on scratch lines of 223, 190 and 223 while Marasigan outbowled everyone in her division on 604.
Jem Strikers finished strong, winning the third and last game and posting the top overall output of 2,898.
Tommy De Castro was at the vanguard of the Jem attack with a solid 659 that was actually the second best score of the day on lines of 201, 211 and 220. From the distaff side, Jem got 571 from Alma Bacero and 520 from Charie Guzman. Pancho Cuevas at 579 was the other Jem player to do full games while Efren San Pedro had 158-173 and Gerry Mandanas 198.
Along with Bunagan’s 678 Hidada built its total from a single set of five players that included Amro Al Amri 615, Rene Martinez 593, Pinky Acato 525 and Grace Siasoco 475.
Over at Alanson, the trio of Bob Stone, Marie Gumpal and Jeanette Cerbito led the way with rounds of 582, 553 and 511 to go with the 193-191 by Nick Gozun, 183-180 by Igna Salgado and 196-212 by Paolo Allego.
For Sky Freight the leading scorers were Oca Bernabe 601, Imelda Sayago 540 and Yolly Santos 539. With two games each were team manager Emy de Guzman 181-157, James Galvan 142-168 and Rene Santiago 215-181.
