Bullet found in girl’s stomach

Doctors found a bullet in a 9-year-old girl’s stomach two weeks after they had failed to find it when she was brought to the hospital with a deep wound in her back.
Doctors at King Faisal Hospital in Taif stitched the wound and discharged the girl after they were told by her parents that she might had been hit by fireworks as she was playing on the roof.
The source of the bullet is unknown. Doctors say the girl must live with the bullet as it is risky to attempt to remove it by surgery.
“It was the morning of the first Eid day. Ghadir came down from the roof with a deep wound in the back,” said the girl’s brother Ali.
“We took her to the hospital where doctors cleaned the wound and stitched it as they thought it was a result of the many fireworks that were falling on the house’s roof. She has been complaining about pain and we took her to the same hospital for x-ray that imaged a bullet inside her stomach,” he said.
The brother demanded investigation into why doctors released the girl without further examination.
Taif Health Affairs launched an investigation into the incident.
The spokesman said details will be announced after the doctors who attended the girl have been questioned.
