The Pakistani Embassy will host three more job fairs in three major cities of the Kingdom to help undocumented workers from various professions and those affected by the new labor laws to seek employment.
The first job fair will be organized at the Pakistan International School in Nasiriya on Sept. 5, the second at the Pakistan International School in Jubail on Sept. 26 and the third at Pakistan International School in Alkhobar on Sept. 27. The timings of the job fairs will be from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Community Welfare Attaché at the Pakistani Embassy Moeenuddin said: “The embassy decided to host these three job fairs following the enthusiastic response of job-seekers as well as companies which participated in previous job fairs.”
He said that more than 70 Pakistani local and multinational companies have registered with the embassy for the three job fairs. Pakistani workers seeking jobs for transfer of sponsorship have been asked to attend the fair.
“We are making all efforts to maintain the interest of illegal workers. Embassy officials will also utilize the opportunity thrown up by the extended Amnesty deadline to work efficiently and correct the status of Pakistani workers,” he said.
Moeenuddin said the embassy was thankful to companies participating in the job fairs, which he hoped would help hundreds of Pakistani workers find jobs before Nov. 3.
“We also appreciate the cooperation of the school managements and the volunteers,” he said, adding that more than 12,000 undocumented workers had approached Pakistani diplomatic missions for registration, while 5,000 Pakistani workers have left the Kingdom.
Syed Hamad Abid, second community welfare attaché, said: “We are also thankful to the Pakistan Investors Forum (PIF) for its participation in the job fair. We are aiming to provide better facilities to illegal Pakistani workers to correct their status. We are facilitating all illegal Pakistani workers to correct their status through 55 focal points in Riyadh and 70 focal points all over the Kingdom.”
He urged all runaway Pakistanis working in companies with red and yellow categories and those who are searching for jobs and staying illegally in the Kingdom to attend the job fair.
