Visitors at the Saudi pavilion can view a documentary film on King Abdul Aziz, founder of the Kingdom, in Chinese language at the Beijing Fair.
The film is produced by the Darah, the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives.
The film, available in other languages, tells the story of how the Kingdom was unified at the hands of the late king and the development and progress that followed.
The pavilion also provides detailed histories of Makkah and Madinah in order to familiarize the Beijing people about the Kingdom’s culture.
Books available at the Darah stall include “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia- History and Future,” which contains facts and photos, and “A Historical Atlas of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia” in Chinese. There are many scientific and translated publications
Darah’s participation in the book fair helps to give a better understanding of the history of the Kingdom in particular and the history of Islam, Arab countries, the Saudi Press Agency reported on Friday.
Higher Education Minister Khaled Al-Anqari opened the Saudi pavilion at the fair on Wednesday. It is for the first time an Arab or Muslim country has been given the honor of being the official guest of honor at Beijing exhibition.
More than 2,000 publishers from 58 countries are participating in the show.
Chinese women are particularly fascinated by the traditional Saudi dress. Most of them wanted to be taken their photographs wearing the Arabian clothes.
