Kudu of Orly Casimero, Al Faisaliah of Ayman Saber and Barkadahan Disers of Lito Villanueva stayed perfect after the second week of the 20th Basketball Fever in Riyadh 2013 at Sheraton Riyadh Hotel & Towers rubberized basketball court.
This 2-in-1 league features the 3rd Kudu Challenge Cup for Inter-Company Non-Rated and the 26th Annual Riyadh Inter-Hotels Basketball Tournament 2013 played Saturday.
Defending Inter-Company Non-Rated champion Kudu defeated overmatched new entrant Nesma Partner of Dino Balaga 88-51 on Saturday. Kudu boys led by Brian Coronado, Fernando Pasig and Bernard Fabila were simply too good for Nesma. It was Kudu’s second straight victory.
Also Saturday, Barkadahan Disers edged out Western Union Enjaz of Peter Poloroso 70-69. Ramil Ignacio, Arnel Cunanan, Joel Tarin and Resty Montemayor anchored the Disers who improved to 2-0.
In the Inter-Hotels, Noli Ramos’ revitalized Al Faisaliah boys stunned defending champion Ritz Carlton 67-62. Al Faisaliah featuring Nino Lauriaga, Abel Coral, Nino Salvador, Carlo Hall, Jason Lopera, Archie Zabala, Marvin Casubuan, and Bryan Ambrosio controlled the game from the first quarter, which ended 16-8, and never looked back to score its second win in as many games.
In another cardiac game, Four Seasons of Elmer Morano scored a hairline 62-61 victory against new entrant Four Points By Sheraton Riyadh Khaldia of Marvin Magnaye.
Thursday games saw Almarai of Mike Alarcon bounce back from a Kudu defeat to down Blue Eagles of Allianz Saudi Fransi 83-74, InterCon of Dondon Mengote stop Four Seasons coached by Jose Ricaplaza 75-63 and Nesma Partner defeat Zahran group of Arnel Ardamoy 76-66.
