The circumstances surrounding the death of Muhammad Barnawi, the teacher who was stabbed by a pupil at a secondary school in Jazan, are now clear to the Athwan police investigating the case.
Authorities say that the facts leave no room for speculation on the motives behind the murder. A report containing the outcome of the investigation will be sent to the general court for prosecution.
Musa bin Zalaa, spokesman of the Jazan governorate, said citizens and officials in the governorate have expressed deep sorrow for the loss of the teacher.
Officials at the governorate said they were surprised to hear that weapons found their way into the school. They called on education departments, school administrators, elders and parents to join efforts to prevent the recurrence of such a tragic incident.
The parents of the teachers arrived from Makkah and were met by prominent figures and officials of the governorate who extended the condolences of Minister of Education Prince Faisal bin Abdullah.
Ahmed Rabie, the director of Education in Sabya, visited Athwan Secondary School and met with teachers and students there.
Muhammad Al-Shamrani, the mayor of Alddair, dismissed rumors of a dispute between the teacher and the murderer, pointing out that Barnawi was well-liked by everyone.
A source said the victim's body would be handed over to his family for burial following an autopsy.

Barnawi used to play at the Al-Hilal Club and the Saudi basketball team. He also participated in several sports events in Sabya and won several awards and honors.
