I had to make a quick trip from KKIA to Old Sanaiyah, so I thought, “No problem — take the Ring Road and turn right at the sign for the railway station.” But I missed my turn, because the previous easily-recognizable picture of a locomotive has been replaced by a little square containing a splotch of brown for sand, a splotch of blue for sky and a splotch of green (I think) for an oversize palm tree. Somewhere in the middle of those three, if you have the time and the inclination to get out your magnifying glass and look carefully, there are two thin, parallel white lines with thicker bars across that are evidently supposed to represent a railroad track. But drivers don’t have the time for that; so please, can we have the old sign back? — Tony Marshallsay, Riyadh
