Ties between rulers and ruled

In his article published on Sept. 25, Abdulateef Al-Mulhim has very beautifully explained the reasons; the Kingdom remained unfazed by the global political, social and economic turmoil. In his usual subtle way, he has really succeeded in conveying his point to his readers. It is true that the relations between the ruler and the ruled play an important role in a country’s growth. Saudis are fortunate to have rulers who think about them, who care for them and respond to their genuine issues. I was delighted to read about the true reason behind the extended weekend on the occasion of the Saudi National Day.
I hope the relations between the Saudis and their rulers, stay the same rather grow stronger with the passage of time.
After reading this article, I realized the countries facing turmoil as a result of the so-called Arab Spring are mostly those where the ruling class treat the general public badly and does not work for the betterment and welfare of the masses. — Azmat Ahmad, Jeddah
