A Riyadh-based artist has drawn a pencil sketch of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and dedicated it to members of the public on Saudi National Day.
The 83rd Saudi National Day was celebrated on Monday. Saudis and expatriates together marked the auspicious occasion with traditional fervor and gaiety, remembering the great efforts of King Abdul Aziz and his soldiers in unifying the Kingdom.
Speaking to Arab News, artist Rejeena Niaz said: “People typically celebrated by visiting heritage sites or partying, but I decided to embark on a pencil sketching project. I was motivated to draw a sketch of the king because of all the great things he has done for the Kingdom, Saudi nationals and expatriates,” she said.
“I dedicated this pencil sketch of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah to Saudi nationals and expatriates on the 83rd Saudi National Day.”
The expatriate artist, from India, is married with three kids.
A self-developed artist, she has created numerous oil paintings on canvas, acrylic paintings and paintings with mixed media. A graduate in mathematics, she also holds an honors diploma in Information and Systems Management.
