Bismillah wins thriller against United

MEDINAH: Bismillah XI, Madinah Diamonds and Airport XI registered victories in first round matches of the 2nd Natco Cup Twenty20 cricket tournament, organized by the Madinah Cricket Association here.
In a thrilling encounter, Bismillah XI edged past United Stars by 5 runs. Bismillah batted first and set their rivals a target of 198 in their allotted 20 overs.
Shoed scored a match winning 103 with the help of 5 sixes and 15 fours. Parvaiz scored 20 runs. Riyaz bagged two wickets. In reply United Stars fought well but failed to reach the target by five runs only. Riyaz top-scored with 79 runs. Aazam supported him with 45 runs. Younus claimed two wickets.
In another match, Madinah Diamonds routed Friends XI by 60 runs. Madinah Diamonds put on board 215 runs in the allotted 20 overs. Ali Sheir was the highest scorer with 79 runs followed by Qayyoom who hammered 64 runs.
Talha Fayyaz was the most successful as he took 2 wickets. Chasing the target, friends XI were bowled out for 155 runs.
Sajjad (30), and Talha Fayyaz (28) were the main scorers. Khan Bahadur claimed four wickets.
In third match Airport XI easily routed United Stars by 9 wickets. United Stars scored 166 runs off 20 overs. Riyaz impressed with 32 runs. Niraz got 3 wickets while Touseef got 2. In reply, Airport XI achieved their target with 4 overs to spare and lost only one wicket. Thanks to Zakir’s unbeaten 108.
Fahed, Tariq, (Pak Madinah) Younus, Sajjad (Bismillah) and Rashid from (Pak Eagles) supervised the matches.
